Andover and District Mencap is an independent, not for profit, community minded charity that supports adults and children with learning disabilities.
Established in 1964, we have been providing care and support services to individuals with learning disabilities for over 50 years. We are passionate about enabling choice and independence for those we support and work tirelessly with our members and the local community to make this vision a reality.
Our years of experience in delivering services for individuals with learning disabilities allows us to make our training courses even more insightful and informative.
Our public courses are delivered at our home, The Wellington Centre, which is based in Andover, Hampshire. This community centre has become a safe, welcoming place for our members and training delegates alike.
Skills for Care estimate that over half a million adult social care workers support people who are living with a learning disability. It is important that health and social care workers have a good understanding of learning disabilities to ensure that they are able to support those they work with effectively.
